We are proud to be host of one of the oldest and best managed ultra events in
the country. A great course,
enthusiastic volunteers, and some of the best aid stations
you've ever run across bring runners back year after year to run this
all road 50 mile race.

TREKKERS' START
A Trekkers Start will be available at 5:00 am. Trekkers will be counted
as official finishers provided they notify
the race director during packet pickup of their early start election. Trekkers
must carry flashlights and be
prepared for self support during the early hours of the race.
AID STATIONS
Nine along the course with food and drink. Substantial food
and drink, shower facilities, and massage are available at the finish
line at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
ENTRY FEES
$40.00 postmarked on or before November 9, 2002.
$50.00 postmarked on or after November 10, 2002.
QUALIFICATIONS
Entry limited to runners who have completed marathons or longer races. The race
director reserves the right to
reject any entry or require any runner to quit the race for safety reasons.
TIME LIMITS
Due to the danger of running in darkness the finish line will officially close
at 6:00 pm, 11 hours from the
start time. Those planning on running slower than 11 hours should start with
the Trekkers.
RACE HEADQUARTERS
Hampton Inn I-265, 4100 Hampton Lake Way, Louisville, KY 40241, (502)
327-8880. The host hotel is approximately 2 miles from the start/finish
at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Accommodations: A block of rooms is reserved for runners and their
crews at the Hampton Inn. These rooms are guaranteed
for us through November 7, 2002. Participants are encouraged to reserve
early, because of other activities being held in
the Louisville area at the same time as our race , hotel rooms are
expected to be in short supply.

RACE MEETING
Your attendance is important to make this a safe, fun and smooth
running race. Pre-race meeting: Friday, December 6,
2002, 7:00 pm EST at the Hampton Inn I-265 in the Kentucky Derby Room.
PACKET PICK-UP
Between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM in the Kentucky Derby Room at the
Hampton Inn I-265
AWARDS
High quality sweat shirts, medallions and certificates to all finishers. Attractive plaques to the top three overall male and female
finishers, first male and female masters (40-49) runners, and first male and female grandmasters (50+) runners.
